Dave Bernier, PhD’s many achievements encompass service in the public and private healthcare sectors. Near the beginning of his career, Dave was Director of Operations for 2d Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron, where he coordinated humanitarian relief missions, medical aid, and special airlift missions in his capacity as a military diplomat.

In 1993, Dave Bernier transitioned to the role of Executive Officer and as an Administrator at Malcolm Grow Medical Center in Washington, DC, a 200-bed Level II JCAHO-accredited facility affiliated with the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences.

The US Air Force Surgeon General selected Dave Bernier to become its Chief Legislative Officer in 1998.  For four years, Dave liaised with Congress, the media, and the public, assisting in the development of legislation affecting the Military Health System. Dave Bernier successfully coordinated the defense of a $62 billion national healthcare budget before Congress.  As a result of his many accomplishments, Dave Bernier received an internship from the United States Air Force to serve as a Managed Care Program Manager at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services in Baltimore, Maryland.

Dave Bernier entered the public sector in 2002 as a consultant, leveraging his experience and strong interpersonal skill to develop new relationships with businesses and community leaders, while enhancing operations for health care systems large and small. Most recently, Dave Bernier served as Administrator at Lake Chelan Community Hospital in Chelan, Washington.

Dave Bernier attended Wayland Baptist University for his Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration, and he also holds a Master of Business Administration from Strayer University in Washington, DC. Dave Bernier was awarded his Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration and Healthcare Policy from Columbus University in 2000.  Dave Bernier is a Fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives and the recipient of the organization’s Regent’s Young Healthcare Executive Award in 1998.
